Breathing is a vital act. While people should naturally breathe through their noses, there is a high percentage of the population who do so through their mouths, whether on certain occasions during the day or simply because they sleep with their mouths open at night or because they snore. Even more important are the consequences associated with this bad habit:
– Repetitive allergies, sinusitis, rhinitis, ear problems, tonsils, adenoids, asthma, respiratory system disorders.
– Sleep deficiency: light and restless sleep, night sweating, tired waking up, dark circles, night apnea, etc. Bad night breathing considerably affects behaviour, cognitive performance and energy available during the day.
– Low brain oxygenation: lack of concentration/school or work performance, chronic hyperactivity or fatigue, headaches, distraction, nervousness, agitation, daytime sleepiness, irritability and hormonal and growth disorders.
– Atrophy of maxillary development (possibility of “crooked teeth”) and/or craniofacial disharmony.
– Postural adaptation: the neck leans forward to rectify the path of the airways.
In relation to the treatment we propose, by rehabilitating the functioning of the nasal cavities and airways, a rebalancing of the position of the maxilla is provided with enormous benefits at postural level, sleep apnea and snoring, resulting in a significant improvement in the quality of sleep.
